As a major project within the framework of cooperation extended Mekong Subregion (GMS), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) assistance to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia made. This project is to promote sustainable tourism development of the water through the upgrading of tourism infrastructure, development of community-based tourism, support the poor and sub-regional cooperation in tourism. The project is divided into three phases: Phase one was conducted with a total investment of USD 12.2 million. The second phase (starting from 2009) with a total investment of 11.792 million. The activities are implemented in two phases including 250 active implementation of community-based tourism linked poverty alleviation, building tourism billboards along the economic corridor East - West, advertising travel products travel journals of international organized 26 training courses to develop human resources ... the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly with the project Manager and the agency is planning to implement the third phase, expected to launch in 2013
